That's okay. I just felt saying it, because I wanted to see if I had posted any messages before and I couldn't find it, and so I wasn't sure. The design is lovely. I would not say an improvement (design-wise) because I loved the previous layouts just as much. Change is good, and it's sometimes needed.

Hello and welcome, Linwe49, TofuFishy and Nevaratoiel! Sorry for the belated welcome, but laying sick in bed a whole week does tend to keep you off the interwebs .

Nothing cheesy about that Linwe49, I think all true Tolkien fans have a special place in their heart for his works. They just... become part of us.

Those are not boring hobbies at all, TofuFishy! What kind of video games do you usually play? And you can read both books at the same time if you want . Might get a bit confusing though, since the Silmarillion isn't the easiest. Either way, enjoy Tolkien's works and our site.

Real life can be a pain sometimes Nevaratoiel, especially when it comes to doing the things you enjoy. Welcome back though. I hope you'll stick around this time! I'm from the same general area as you by the way . And I'm glad to see you found the 'edit' button, rather than post trice . An exemplary not-so-newbie!
We're fully aware of the issues with certain parts of the site, we're trying to mend them all as soon as possible. Thanks for pointing it out though! We're working hard on making the site better and better.

I've had some experience posting on forums, and I once was a moderator at one. I remember being annoyed with people posting multiple messages after another. So I try to avoid to do it myself whenever possible.

I tend to come and go, as is with all my interests. It all depends on the time I have... or, rather, the time I take, hehe. I'll try to stick around this time.

Good to know it's still being worked on. I don't think there's one site on the net that's so extensive as far as the world of Tolkien goes.

Well I hope you're feeling better soon. Being sick in bed is never a fun pastime.

Hello everyone, I have lurked around this awesome website since last september (mostly learning a bit of Quenya and reading in Elrond's Library) and have decided it's time I introduced myself. I am homeschooled and live in the Rocky Mountains. Most days I am out at the barn riding Chip, the small red reining horse or training Velvet the goofball in dressage. I have read The Hobbit, LotR and the Silmarillion and currently am searching for Tolkien's other books. I play Minecraft and various other videogames depending on what my brother is playing.

I have been looking for a website that could help me learn Elvish (I'm still hesitating between Quenya and Sindarin, could someone make a suggestion as to which one I should go for?) And I thought this would be the place to go..

Hello everyone. Finally I found this amazing site, where I can learn Elvish language and read more about Tolkien, who is my favorite writer, and ofc meet a lot of people who also enjoy to read His books and to watch movies made by his books.
My favorite character is Luthien and race is Elvish. I love to spend free time by editing some pictures from LOTR an Hobbit and to post them on page on facebook where I am an admin. I hope I will learn Sindarin and make great friendships with all of you. And I am sorry for my bad English Greetings to all of you!

How did you find CoE?: I was wandering around the internet.

What are your hobbies and interests?:Well obviously Tolkien's works, also beyond the relm of Middle Earth, I enjoy music, video games, board games, art, WWE, paranormal investigations, & so much more! I like adventure, activities & companionship but the artist in me recluses & that is when I write, paint, & draw, as I do often.

Hello,

My name is Jacob, and I live in the UK. I am 32 years of age, so now I have endless time on my hands to actually do some worthwhile things - like learn Elfish - because I am officially 2 years too old to play computer games!

I have read The Lord of The Rings. It was a long time ago, during Easter of 1995, when I was only a wee boy of 15 years old. A very impressionable age I must say, and before you say it: we all do things at that age that we regret later, (I don't have time to go into it, it involves chocolate and some firewood that wasn't actually paid for.)

So there you have it. I'm a complete nerd. I've even read the Silmarilion. I also have a copy of The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun here. But I can't seem to get my head round it

I hope you don't mind my choice of name. I know that Wizards are supposed to be some kind of bright mystically incarnate likeness of a Valar or something. But I can do magical things with my hands I assure you. (Please don't mention the chocolate again! )

Welcome to CoE, Istari_Novice. Your username is perfectly alright, don't worry - I'd say most of us have Middle-earth inspired usernames. There are quite a few of us who love The Silmarillion, and I've met people around here who love the Istari above all, so it should be easy for you to find like-minded people here. Is there an age to be too old for computer games? Oh dear, I must hurry then to get my share, before it's too late .
I can relate to your issue with the Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun. It's been on my shelf for over two years now I think, untouched for now. Too many other things to do. And as Nólemë said, don't worry about your username, you should see the names of some of our members, they can be quite ... creative .

Hello everyone!
Im Chantal im from the Netherlands!
Im 21 years young, and im trying to learn Sindarin since 2 days. (quite difficult, because im not home in all english words! ^^)
my hobbys are reading (busy with the books of eragon),singing, dancing, film watching, horseriding, and bow shooting!)

Hopefully there are some more Dutch people over here who are trying to learn Sindarin, so they can help me!

I have found the website with the help of google
I've seen all the films of LOTR the ones without the missing scene's.
I Haven't read the books, cause...i dont know why..guess im a little bust with the other fantasy books.

My favorite writers are: Berhard Hennen, Julie Kagawa, Cristopher Paolini, and ofcourse Mr Tolkien (even when I haven't read his books, im pretty sure i'll like them)

Another archer, nice! I'm one myself. There are plenty of Dutchies around our site, there must be some in the Elvish forums as well. Although keep in mind that the main language of this site and our forums is English . You can use whatever language you want in pm's (private messages) though. Go have a look for fellow Sindarin students, you'll be using that language in no time.

I'm a latecomer, I know, but this is a lovely site. I am the retired senior arts critic for a large newspaper in the American Southwest. I first read Lord of the Rings while I was in college, and it has become a lifetime addiction. It is good to be connected to a community of like-minded individuals.

Love your country, gal. Would love to come back and visit the 'wild west' of Ireland, i.e. County Mayo. *grins* You are one lucky girl to live where you do (but then, aren't all Irish lucky? LOL). I know you'll enjoy being a part of the site. So many of us love JRRT too. Good luck with the Elvish studies. Which are you planning on? Sindarin or Quenya? Both have their pros and cons but both are so much fun to learn.
