*pops head in* Hey there! I've been wanting to join this RPG for a while now, but since it said '' No new members'' I figured I just couldn't. But now that you need new members, and Mirilien has been so kind to provide a summary of the story so far, I'd be happy to join.

My character will be Nindeth, she works in the Houses of Healing. I hope we can revive this RPG!

I'll leave town tomorrow, but I'll post again on Saturday. I don't think it's necessarily to write Verian out of it, since this RPG is moving very slowly anyway

Since we've got this thread revived again, I'd suggest we'd start thinking about an actual plot. Where do we want this thread to go? Where do our characters fit in? Will we centre our RPG around the war, or will that just be on the background? Perhaps the war is just a part of the story; a way for them to meet and develope possible friendships, but that the rest of the thread there will be peace.

So... what do you guys think? I'm open for anything so just let your imagination run.

Are you guys still in need of more players? I have a character who's not an orc.. Lol sorry but I'm prone to playing the bad guys. He's originally an elf, but since I'm not too adept at what the Tolkien elves are like I'd rather he be human.
His name is Braxen and he's not in the DB as of yet because I've not rp'd him.

Or if you want someone to control a villian type I can do that too. Orcs are my specialty.. Lol!

Hi Dire, welcome! Yes, we still need more players. I don't mind whether he's good or bad, so do what pleases you the most. A good guy would be easier to get into the plot, but a villian would perhaps make it a bit more interesting.

Thanks! I posted.

There's a part in their concerning the orcs, the characters are just to give the orcs a bit of a name and a reason behind their attacks.
Braxen is my character though, the others are just to give a bit about him, as he's a family man. If it's not okay I can edit the post.
btw thanks for letting me join!

It's fine, Dire, no need to edit at all Everyone is welcome, Dire, we're glad you wanted to join!

We have to think now of a way for Braxen to meet the others. And we still have to discuss the plot. I'm pretty clueless at the moment, but I'll post something as soon as I have an idea. And please, please feel free to post any ideas any of you might have!

Welcome, Dire, welcome! Sorry everyone that I haven't posted earlier. I had seen the new posts, but I was sorta hoping a semi-good idea for a plot would pop into my head. Which, I am sad to say, it didn't. So, like MU, I'm rather clueless right now.

Maybe we could keep the war going, but sort of keep the characters on the home-front, you know? It's lame, I know, but it's all I can come up with for now.

Thanks!

I have a way of allowing Braxen to meet the others. They are all still at the Houses of Healing?

And this could be an idea for but there could be a group of refugees (men, women, and children.) who had been forced from their farms by one of the renegade groups of orcs that made up the enemy army. The refugees have to travel the plains before Gondor in obvious sight of both sides.

So a small group would have to leave the safety of the city take the homeless people as their charge and protect those who cannot defend themselves.
Cause if the orcs spot them, they'll no doubt use them for target practice.

This is just something small, but for the time being it would give the characters something to do.

Lol I'm trying to think of something...

That's pretty much impossible. The House are situated (I believe) in one of the top levels of the city, to make sure it stays safe. If it were attacked, that would mean the rest of the city was taken as well, against which our characters simply wouldn't stand a chance.

Still clueless

Your idea would be fine, Dire, if your char wasn't the only one who would go to protect them. Nindeth and Verian are healers and I think Jakelyn wants to stay with his little sister (please correct me if I'm wrong ).

I will leave town tomorrow so I won't be able to post for a week. Celebwen will keep Verian a bit on the background, so that she won't be forgotten *Hugs Cel*

I'll post again on 20th October, have fun in the meantime! *Huggles*

Too true Mirilien... And it would be too soon for a brunt attack by the orcs in my opinion unless we would want to extinguish a big group of them. Maybe we could have an inside danger, someone working alongside the orcs who is within the city walls?

I've been thinking of that too, but then what would happen to Verian and Nindeth? They would still be in the Houses and then we'd have an RPG spilt in two.

Now what if Minas Tirith was overtaken? What if the orcs had caught the city in a time of peace and prosperity, when least prepared for battle? What if Rohan will not come? We could have our little group and as many as can seep out of the city, maybe through a passage from the houses of the dead. Maybe a passage through the mountain?

I don't know, I'm just brainstorming here...Anyways, keep on thinking everyone!

Braxen does have a tendency to act like a big brother or even a father towards certain characters.. (^_^)

I like that idea. That way all the characters will be together and each will have their own part to play.
The orcs are merely waiting for reinforcements before they attack again and we could just say that Rohan did not come until it was too late for most of the city to be saved.

Wait, don't write too much yet, Dire. We still need to figure out what we're going to do with Grandel. Is there going to be a searchparty? 'Cause I doubt Nindeth would join in that; they would soldiers, not healers, that would be too risky.

Oh, just a side note, maybe they could all more or less volunteer for a part to seek help at Edoras? You would definitely need Healers there, plus there'd be enough danger on the way there. But that still leaves out Grandel.....

Thank the gods! Braxen is not fit to fight and I was hoping we could do a side journey so he would not have to.

The orcs are still preparing to battle and I'm sure I can figure out something to keep them from attacking.. Orcs are prone to outbursts, especially against one another. That can keep their attentions turned against one another.

Now for Grandel... I'm not quite sure how to get him out of there, this is a crazy idea but I can have the orcs begin to fight against one another (for some stupid reason only an orc would) giving him the chance to break free and make a break for freedom. A few orcs could chase after him but Grandel can run into the party who have been sent from Gondor to aid Edoras.

I think that could work! We could have our characters and others who they can bring to safety escape through a passageway into the mountain, maybe from the graveyard, and then let them set up a post near the river Sirith. The larger part of the escapees can stay there (meaning the ones me don't play) and our party could take another pass to get to the northern side of the mountains, exiting west of the Druadan Forest. Then they could maybe find Grandel somewhere there and then together make the long road to Edoras.

For all the names of places and rivers, check the detail map of Gondor that should be in the back of the books. Sound good?

That works! Legadriel if you would have Grandel start the conflict when you're ready to set him free. In my next post I'm going to have the orcs act..well..like the brutes they are. Grandel will be able to see the way to get them to argue.. He'll be in one of the parties behind the front lines (On the northern edge of Drudan forest.) and the orc leading that small troupe has a bit of a problem with his soldiers. ie there is another wanting to take command..

This way since he's wounded he won't have far to travel to get to the others who are leaving the mountains just west of there.

Now how are we going to get the rescue party to start their journey? Are we having the non fighters leave the city with soldier escorts?

Yes, I was thinking along those lines. City overrun, all able people from the Houses flee to the mountain passage (is there sucha thing or am I making this up?) with soldier escort. Some might prefer to 'hold the fort', but against an army that alrady had overrun the larger part of the city, the stand no chance.
When it happens, I'll drag Verian along, as wel as her mother and Doria. Couldn't stand leaving them behind.

I edited my post, didn't feel well last night to finish..
The orcs are not going to attack the gate until our characters are ready to go. Khurfak is an arrogant one, he thinks he's got everything under his control.

Let me know when we're ready to move and I'll start the attack.

So do I, Legadriel, so do I

Sadly (well, actually not), I'm leaving this weekend, so I won't be able to post then. I'll be in Paris then Anyways, since you might want to move out in my absence, if everyone is ready, I will leave Nindeth in MU's care, if she's willing to take her up. Anyways, happy RPGing all and I'll see you Sunday afternoon!
