I think Gandalf´s creepy dude trick, (as it´s called here) when he gets angry and creepy, could be derived from a scene in the book at the Council of Elrond when Gandalf says what is written at the One Ring in the black speech:
“The change in the wizard´s voice was astounding. Suddenly it became menacing, powerful, harsh as stone. A shadow seemed to pass over the high sun, and the porch for a moment grew dark.”

that is true. i was rather disapointed that, in the movie, it didn’t occur.
It does, in fact: it’s in the EE version of the Council of Elrond scene.
Was that the EE? I can’t remember which parts of the EE films were actually extra. That was a cool scene btw.

The bit with the shadow happens during the Council of Elrond scene, when he recites the Ring poem.
