Locations for The Hobbit
Peter Jackson’s assistant, Matt Dravitzki, has told The Otago Daily Times that scouting for locations for The Hobbit movies has started. This is taking place in both North and South Islands in New Zealand.

A “lovely” day to start filming?

Ian McKellen to reprise role as Gandalf in The Hobbit.
Ian McKellen has confirmed on his official website that he will be playing Gandalf in The Hobbit movies. He wrote that his; “worry that I could not easily escape from Middle Earth was lifted” and that filming starts in New Zealand on 21st February.

Gollum and The Hobbit
It’s not yet officially confirmed but Deadline report that Andy Serkis will be returning to play Gollum in The Hobbit movies. Other actors also reported to be in negotiation are; Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Christopher Lee in (Saruman) and Ian Holm (as an older version of Bilbo Baggins)
