Trilogy all-nighter at the IMAX Cinema, London

‘Children of Húrin’ paperback release party
The paperback edition of ‘Children of Húrin’ will be released in the US on October 14th, and to celebrate this TolkienLibrary.com is hosting an online release party, including a Q&A with special guest Alan Lee.

A Long Expected Party
The folks in Kentucky have put together “A Long Expected Party”, a gathering of Tolkien fans to celebrate the birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo. Lord of the Rings Arms and Armour
The Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, UK, is hosting an exhibition of over 200 pieces of arms and armour made by Weta Workshop. Exhibits include Eomer’s helmet, the Witch King’s mace and Aragorn’s sword. The exhibition runs until 16th November. There’s further information, including pictures of some of the exhibits, here.

Oxonmoot 2008
This year’s Oxonmoot 2008 begins on the evening of Thursday the 25th and runs until Sunday the 28th. Location is at Christ Church. Howard Shore’s Lord of the Rings Symphony
On 19th and 20th September the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will be performing Howard Shore’s Lord of the Rings Symphony. The Symphony will feature six movements from the famous trilogy. Original illustrations and storyboards by artists Alan Lee and John Howe will be featured during the concert. There are further details at the orchestra’s website…

Shadowfax visits Wisconsin
Shadowfax from the LotR movies, (known as Blanco in real life), will be appearing with his trainer Cynthia Royal from April 25th to April 27th at Merrimount Morgans Stable in Wisconsin. Friday 25th will be a family night with clinics being held on 26th and 27th. There are further details here.
