Bruce Hopkins to attend The Gathering of the Fellowship
Bruce Hopkins, who played Gamling in the LotR movie trilogy, will be attending The Gathering of the Fellowship. This convention will take place in Toronto from 1st to 4th July 2006. There is further information at the official website here.

Minister is “a hobbit at heart”
Odd Einar Dørum, Norway’s Minister of Justice and Police, has announced that he will be joining (in costume) the procession which will take place before the performance of the Lord of the Rings symphony in Frogner Park, Oslo on 27th August. Mr Dørum, a LotR fan, states that he is “mostly a hobbit at heart”.…

Tolkien convention
Tolkien fans are gathering in Birmingham, UK, for the Tolkien Society’s four day convention which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the publication of the LotR trilogy. The Lord of the Rings Exhibition
The Lord of the Rings Exhibition opens at the Indiana State Museum on 6th October at 12:01 am. As a prelude to the exhibition opening the museum’s Imax Theater will be showing all three of the movies (theatrical releases) on 3rd, 4th and 5th October. There’s further information at MuseumExhibits.

Hoosier’s homemade ‘Hobbit’ delivers

LotR stage version – official cast announcement
The official site for the stage version of the Lord of the Rings has now released details of the cast for the forthcoming LotR stage production. The Canadian and British cast of 55 includes Brent Carver as Gandalf, James Loye as Frodo and Gabriel Burrafato will play Legolas.

The LotR – stage version
The stage version of the LotR is due to open in Toronto next year. This article at The Globe and Mail discusses the state of the art stage, which has 2 rotating plates and 16 elevators, that will be used in the production.

Online Tolkien course
An online course is available at Cardiff University (Wales) at the Centre for Lifelong Learning. It’s called “The Foundations of Middle-Earth: Myth, Language and Ideology in J.R.R.Tolkien’s Literature” and is taught by Dimitra Fimi. There are further details about the course here.

Tolkien exhibition
