    At ign.com there’s another report, including pictures, about the RotK EE DVD preview at Comic-Con International. Their conclusion, “we want the Special Extended DVD Edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King right now”.

    Comicbookresources.com, reporting from the RotK EE DVD panel discussion at Comic-Con International, reveal that the DVD will contain an extra 50 minutes of footage, over 20 hours of “extras” and that “the deleted scenes are nothing less than mind-blowing”.

    The Return of the King EE DVD collectors giftset will include a polystone sculpture of Minas Tirith. You can see a picture of the giftset including the sculpture at Filmforce.ign.con. Also featured in the picture is the companion sculpture of Minas Morgul which will be available exclusively from Sideshow.

    Comingsoon.net report that The Extended Edition of RotK will be released in December. According to the article, “the extended edition took longer to produce because cast members, now filming new projects, had to be rounded up from all over to complete their commentaries”.

    As the release of RotK on DVD draws ever closer, DVDFile has a review of the two-disc set due out in two weeks’ time. There is a review of both the film itself and the extra features that come with it.

    Empire Online has a review of the RotK DVD, which is released in a month’s time on 25th May. The film itself received five stars, although it’s commented that the EE DVD will be the superior release, both in terms of the film itself, and the extras.

    BBC Radio One has a short article about the RotK DVD, which will be hitting shelves around the world on May 25th. The article also mentions that the DVD will be around 15 minutes longer than the cinema version, although I think there’s some confusion (perhaps with the extended edition) there.
