and Newsweek believes that RotK is a contender! The senior editor of that publication is using descriptive terms like “passionate” and “spectacular” after seeing it. That review and more, including some *spoilers*, over at Stuff.

Online voting is now open for the UK Sony Ericsson Empire Film Awards. You can vote in a number of categories including best director and best scene for which The Ride of the Rohirrim from RotK has been short listed. The awards will be presented live on Sky Movies on 4th February 2004.

The Two Towers soundtrack won the Public Choice Award at the World Soundtrack Awards yesterday. You can see a list of the winners here.

Orlando Bloom has been awarded the men’s Hollywood Breakthrough Award. The award will be presented at the 2003 Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony on October 20th . The blurb is about 3/4 the way down at the Hollywood Film Festival web site.

Vote now for the Two Towers soundtrack in the Public Choice Award category at World Soundtrack. Last year LotR won both the Public Choice and the Best Original Soundtrack of the Year Awards.
