In an email to TORn Peter Jackson explains his legal dispute with New Line and how he has been told, ” New Line would no longer be requiring our services on the Hobbit and the LOTR ‘prequel’… the studio was now actively looking to hire another filmmaker for both projects.”

Want to live in the Shire or Bree?
A housing complex in Bend, Oregon is based in part on Tolkien’s Middle-earth.One part of the development is referred to as ‘Middle-earth Village’, and based on a Bree street scene from the LotR movie, and the maintenance buildings are designed to resemble hobbit holes. All members beware of received e-mails from “Microsoft Security Alert” or “Microsoft Corporation Security Support”. None of the e-mails have a Microsoft return addess. When these e-mails are opened thay appear to be official documents on Microsoft letterhead but the attachment is actually the W32.swen virus. Be aware that Microsoft never sends alerts by e-mail.
