Housing crunch bankrupts The Shire
The collapse of the real estate market has forced ‘The Shire’, a Bend Oregon housing development inspired by The works of JRRT, into foreclosure. Only one home has been sold, although another is nearly completed and 14 other lots have been developed.

Christopher Tolkien to halt the Hobbit filming?
Christopher Tolkien will appear in a California court on June 6th and ask a judge to terminate any filming rights to “The Hobbit” over unpaid royalties from the three Lord of the Rings movies. You can read the full story here.

Castles in the Mist- April 5-7th
From the 5th of April until the 7th there will be held a wonderful art exhibition in Moreton-In-Marsch in England. The exhibition will feature the works of Ted Nasmith and Ruth Lacon and there will also be trading stands for a variety of Tolkien and fantasy items. You can find further details here.
