Tolkien beaten by Enid Blyton!
In a recent poll 1000 adults were asked to name their favourite children’s book when they were growing up. The top spot went to the Famous Five adventure stories by Enid Blyton. Lord of the Rings was placed sixth with The Hobbit in eighth place. You can read the full story at tvnz.co.nz.

Lord of the Rings graphics win medal

Lord of the law suits
Reuters.com report that Saul Zaentz has sued New Line Cinema. Saul Zaentz, who purchased the rights to JRR Tolkien’s works in the 1970’s, claims that New Line owe him over $20 million in unpaid royalties from the LotR movies.

Lord of the Rings– the musical
According to this article at playbill.com the Lord of the Rings musical is, “progressing towards an opening night in October 2005”. However, the production has yet to be cast and there are no details on where, in London’s West End, the musical will be staged.

Jamie Selkirk receives NZ honour
