Hobbiton is being re-created
Stuff.co.nz report that, “The hobbit holes of Matamata are coming to life again”. Work, including planting fruit trees and marking off the sites for new hobbit homes, has started on the site used for Hobbiton in the LotR movies. Filming of The Hobbit movies is due to start in March 2010.

Tolkien trial
Bloomberg.com reports that the case taken out by Tolkien’s heirs against New Line Cinema will be heard in the Los Angeles Superior Court in October this year. Tolkien’s family and the Tolkien Trust are asking for more than $220 million compensation and “also want the option to terminate further rights to the author’s work”.

The Hobbit – filming to start in March 2010

Hugo Weaving not yet on track for The Hobbit
Although del Toro has confirmed that Hugo Weaving would be reprising the role of Elrond, according to Moviehole Hugo Weaving has yet to speak to anyone about returning. He did state that; “It’d be good to get back together with Andy Serkis and Ian McKellan, and whoever else comes back”.

Who will be Bilbo?
When MTV spoke to Guillermo del Toro about who will play the role of Bilbo in the forthcoming movies of The Hobbit he revealed that out of four actors they are “very close now to saying one name”. An announcement about who has been chosen is expected in the next few weeks.
