Ebert’s Oscar predictions
Film critic Roger Ebert makes his predictions for who will win certain categories at this year’s Academy Awards at Sun-Times. He predicts that Return of the King will win Best Picture and that Peter Jackson will win Best Director, but that the film will miss out on the Best Adapted Screenplay gong.

RotK DVD details
According to the home entertainment section at the official site, details of the RotK DVD will be released on March 8th (no word yet on the actual DVD release date, though). Just go here and a pop-up should appear, where you can also see the cover art for the DVD and VHS.

Return of the King is now the world’s third biggest film ever, having made $942.7million so far. The film is yet to be released in Japan, and after its release there on Saturday, it is expected to pass the $1 billion landmark, a feat achieved by no film except Titanic. Read more at BBC News.

No Oscar nomination for Sean Astin
Peter Jackson is delighted that Return of the King is up for so many Oscars, saying that winning one would be “an incredible honour that you will never have again”.
