Ian McKellen talks about his last time being made-up as Gandalf, which was being filmed for the English arts programme, the South Bank Show. He goes on to describe Peter Jackson’s speech to the cast and crew when “Gandalf” had finished all his scenes, and also talks about the presents given to him by the crew. There are also some good pictures of McKellen as Gandalf.
