NBC staffers put together an interesting review of the behind the scene politics that goes on before Oscar night. In particular it focused on “A Beautiful Mind” and the scandalous slander being passed around, mainly on the internet, about the character of the real life John Nash. Their hypothesis is that media representatives who report these “unfounded allegations” are involved in a conspiracy to hamper the films chances at the Oscars.
Beyond that however, the report continued to say that there was still no “favourite” or obvious front runner for The Oscars and that in this climate all the studios are engaging in major media blitzes as well as underhanded slander campaigns against their rivals. Just like any good Politician.
