Why we chose Ulmo?
You have probably all asked someone why they chose their Realm. It is a question that is asked over and over again, and now we are going to answer that question. All of us members in Ulmo love the waters, from the tiniest little raindrop to the biggest of oceans. We adore the creatures that dwell in the seas, dolphins, whales, turtles and mermaids being just a few of them. Some of us have been lucky enough to see them in real life, others are still waiting for that day to come. We joined the Realm of Ulmo because of our affection for all the waters.
The soft trickle of the rain hitting the roof in the morning, a glass of water for drinking, a small stream in the forest, a windstill lake, a high waterfall creating a rainbow over the blue, the crystal clear water and the waves of the ocean…
That is what we love. We all have a passion for water. For some it is bigger, for others smaller, but we all have it. It is that passion that unites us all, creating this wonderful Realm.
I’ve been around water my whole life. I’ve swum in the lakes, sailed on the ocean, and for me the water, especially the deep blue, has been like a second home, as it has for so many others in this Realm. We love being around the waters, we love watching the waves hitting the shores and hearing raindrops falling on the sealing, while we’re sitting inside under a warm blanket, perhaps drinking a cup of hot chocolate or just reading a nice book.
We seek comfort of the water, support. Whenever we hear the cry of a seagull, it reminds us of what we love. We are all tied with an invisible bond, a bond that will last forever.
Why the Realm of Ulmo is a Great Realm?
In the Realm of Ulmo, the members share the same interest about water, but it’s the different people in the Realm that make it a beautiful environment. The activities in our happy home bring us together and we interact with one another. Our different abilities make us work together like a team. All of us have creative minds and we express them in our own ways, but mostly in humorous ones. With our special talents we worked so hard, that as a result we have won the Scepter of Ilúvatar. We utterly amaze ourselves. What motivated us was the support we had for each other. Now who doesn’t like humor? But in our realm funniness seems to be like our theme. The games we have created are either fun or the funniest. It is an enjoyable, comical, and unique Realm. I have joined another realm before, but the Lord of the Waters showed me my true home.
Why We Would Never Leave It?
The Realm of Ulmo is a great place for us, but does it mean we would leave it or not? We don’t have exact proof that members of the Realm would or wouldn’t leave, but what we do have are our own experiences. The Realm is so active and members become so involved, that they keep coming back. Members talk to you and if that isn’t enough they can write to each other through snail mail. If one has a problem, I bet we’ll try to help him/her. When it’s someone’s birthday, we wish them a happy birthday, even if that person has never posted anything in the Realm. Also, most of us welcome every member that introduces themselves; we’re quite a friendly group. Well, this is the summer vacation and at least a few Ulmoians go away to relax and to enjoy themselves. We tell them to have fun and to be careful. Compassion is what we show to our friends. The Realm of Ulmo has become like a second home to us and all of us have become friends. This community has turned into a loving family and we don’t think anybody would want to leave a humble home behind.
