The Loss of a Member of the CoE Staff

It is my sad duty to report that our own BerethEdhellen, Diane Doyle, lost her battle with cancer and was taken from our reach on Feb 11th.

“PIPPIN: I didn’t think it would end this way.

GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn’t end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.

PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?

GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

PIPPIN: Well, that isn’t so bad.

GANDALF: No. No, it isn’t.”

  1. It is a sad loss to our Council to lose such a fine person. She was a wonderful moderator of the role play forums and her gentle guidance will be missed by all of us who role play.

  2. There is little I can say, for I did not know her half as well as I should have. But it is a woeful and bitter loss to the enterity of the world. My sympathies to her friends and family.

  3. I met Bereth here on CoE around 6 years ago and we became close friends. This is so very sad, but the light she brought to our lives will forever be with us.

  4. I am sorry to hear that Diane Doyle lost her battle with Cancer. My sympathies with her family and friends. No words can really express the pain they must be feeling.

Gandalf’s speech about death truly touching, I have always loved it.
