I was here when the hacking occured. That was a very creepy thing to witness. Thank you so much for the fast action. Thank you for the Council of Elrond.
Who would hack a freaking LOTR fansite? Do they really have nothing better to do?
Seriously guys, did you not see what he said? It was just to test CoE’s security. It wasn’t to be malicious. In fact [i]most[/i] people should ask a white hat hacker to try to hack their website every now and again, and submit a bug report if they find a security hole.
Not quite that white hat. They deleted a bunch of stuff as well.

I had begun writing a horribly depressing tale, from a historic perspective, about the day CoE closed down for good, but luckily it wasn’t! Now I can finish my school project and help my brother learn Quenya!

I freaked out when I saw that the site was hacked since I was trying to log in and I thought my account was hacked! Then I realized that the site was hacked. THANKS CoE STAFF!!!! I couldn’t stand it if the website was closed for good!!

Well… at least they weren’t THAT malicious to delete everything. It could’ve been much worse. Glad to see it back on again. 🙂
