Some hair for the taller one and non-russian-folklore-inspired boots for the short one would be a nice touch, but when one almost fears that the remaining dwarves would sport dreadlocks and 60’s bun hairstyles just to look different from the rest… this is a very welcome change. 🙂
To be honest, I’m really starting to like how different they made the dwarves appear from each other. It shows they have put some effort on them as individuals.
I guess many of us have had a kind of shock in first impression because we all had our own images, and we’ve used to see dwarves pretty much like Gimli.
I’m just glad they hold on to the diversity. After all, the movies are an interpretation. They can’t please all, but they do their best to please most. I can’t wait to see the close-up of Thorin.
I like these designs the best so far. 🙂 Not bad at all, so I hope they won’t change.
Curiously enough, I had never thought of Dwalin the way the character bio described him (distrustful, hot-headed). I considered him one of the friendliest of the dwarves, mainly because he was most helpful to Bilbo. 😉
