Viggo makes a fantastic Aragorn. That said, he does NOT belong in this movie because at the time of the Quest of Erebor, Aragorn was only ten years old. Artistic license is a wonderful thing, but this is just ridiculous.
I definitely agree that Aragorn’s role in this new Hobbit movie doesn’t really…fit with what Tolkien had in mind. That being said, Arwen certainly had somewhat of a fabricated role in the LOTR – she stold Glorfindel’s horse! 🙂 I’m sure they want Viggo back on principle – audiences like watching him, and he’s a familiar character in a host of new, unfamiliar faces. Should be a great movie, anyway!
