I don’t like this article because besides being a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings I am also a staunch Harry Potter fan and I love both HP and LOTR equally. I could never compare characters and love both Dumbledore and Gandalf.
Yay … I actually think Gandalf is the best wizard ever… and its really no surprise that he beat Dumbledore… though i think it really an achievement for it to happen now… what with all the extra HP hype and the fact that LOTR hasn’t had a movie come out since 2003 😉 (it was 2003 wasn’t it?)
Does this really surprise anyone? I mean, honestly– everyone knows that Tolkien was one of the great Definers of the fantasy genre. And 9 times out of 10, the original is better than the modern version of a character. If Dumbledore pulls a Gandalf, I’m going to be quite annoyed.
It’s nice to see that, even though the whole world appears to have Harry Potter fever, Gandalf is still remembered/respected. It *shouldn’t* be a surprise, but when there are books speculating on the Harry Potter books, it’s not a sure thing.

Has anyone besides me heard about The Hobbit coming out in theaters in 2009 directed by Sam Raimi? I WISH SO MUCH THAT PJ WOULD DIRECT IT!!!!!!!!!!!
