That list skews very heavily towards older, “classic” films. Some of those are great, but it gives short shrift to modern films, IMO. Just because something is old doesn’t necessarily make it better. There are some movies in the first 50 that you understand why they are “classics”, but the “greatest” films of all time? I wouldn’t go that far.

I’m glad LotR made it on the list but, come on, 50th? I know I may be biased, but I believe it beat a lot of the others that were ranked higher.

50th? Maybe that’s because it’s the AMERICAN Film Institute and the movies were made in NZ?
This is crud! I think the top ten are ones that are just a load of trash! All the LOTR movies should have gotten on there
