I was wondering (as a fairly new weaver) when you became, or revealed yourself as WK to the other members? What inspired this ‘change’?
When my Master commanded me so, and when my fancy took me. I’ve been advised not to deny anything to my fancy, lest I become frustrated. Fortunately though, my fancies usually agree with my Master’s wishes. What inspired the change? Ehmm, is that a trick question or something? As if I needed any inspiration to reveal my true self! D’oh.
Do you ever use your ‘corrupted’ identity when overseeing the newsletter in other realms? Or do you worry that it could lessen their motivation for the CC?
No, I usually don’t. That’s because the other CoE members know next to nothing of my powers, and they’d probably not believe my story and start mocking me. And that would hurt too much. I have feelings too, you know…
Now, if they only knew the truth, they’d be begging for mercy before long, and send me their articles two weeks before the deadline. Which wouldn’t help anyway, as I work best under pressure.
When did you discover your interest in philosophy and what ‘branch’ of it interests you the most?
Oh, that was a loooong time ago. It’s so kind of you to ask, by the way! My Mum used to read me from Plato at bedtime, said it was good for dreaming. Then, when I grew up, she somehow became convinced of my great interest in philosophy, so all I received for my birthdays were the complete works of this or that long-dead-and-buried bloke. To my utter annoyance, I discovered that the bloody books had no pictures. I tore them all apart and made myself an entire flotilla of paper boats. It didn’t work as planned though, ‘cos Mum thought I was hiding the books under my pillow or something, so I could read them unhindered. Uhh, riiiiight. What branch interests me the most? Right now I’m interested in the transcendental nature of fractal metaphysics. Please don’t make me say that again.
What Greek myth are you fondest of and why?
Oooh, any where they all die and there’s blood and stuff. I don’t know why, but that always cracks me up. Like now. Bwhahahahahaha!!!
Before taking up your new identity as WK you often called yourself a Hobbitlass and at other times you have been called an Elf-maid. Which of these secret identities do you see as being the truest?
Do you have any more of these trick questions?! Of course the Witch-king is my one-and-only-and-don’t-you dare-say-otherwise identity. Major d’oh!
Other than the dragons part, what do you treasure most about Romania?
Charlie Weasley. What?! You said besides the dragons, and he’s not a dragon, you know… well, not technically speaking. Editor’s note: the rest of the answer was cut due to rating-related issues. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please remember that preserving the sanity of our readers is of major concern to us. Thank you for your understanding.
What place in Arda do you see most displayed in Romania
Mordor. We have Orcs. Heaps of them. Yeah.
What smilie do you think you use the most and which do you secretly love?
I don’t secretly fancy any smilie, I’m not that pathetic! This one is kinda cute though… Hmm…
Who do you like the best: Frodo or Fëanor?
Who’s Fëanor? Anyway, Frodo, of course! Must be the eyes… and I told you I’m not one to live with frustrations. Besides, he loves me too.
(Forgetting for a moment you are known as Witch-king and Eressëa and Morwin are Morgoth and Sauron) If given the choice of ‘second’ to any Dark Lord, which would it be (Morgoth or Sauron) and why?
Ha, you’re kidding, right? Sauron, of course. And that’s Lord Sauron to you.
Why? ‘Cos he rocks your socks and you know it. ‘Nuff said.
What draws you most to the character of the WK.. is it the splendid outfits, fell beasts, leading Sauron’s attack on Gondor or striking fear into the hearts of little insignificant beings?
The fell beasts, hands down. I’m not one for public transport, thank you very much.
If you were to marry, kiss or push off a cliff Cedric Diggory, Elijah Wood or Trent-something, who would you choose?
Who are those fellows? Are they friends of that Fëanor guy? In any case, I’d push them all off the cliff, of course. I don’t need anyone else but Frodo. Did I tell you that he loves me too? Ah, bless him.
Where did you get the inspiration for the lovely CoE theme you designed? Was the art in it done in water colours? Do you enjoy painting?
Inspired? I’m always inspired, my dear. Take a look at my C.V. Er, page two, paragraph five, if I remember correctly. Yes, of course you may read the rest too, it’s quite considerate of you to show interest in my remarkable achievements. But I digress…
That theme was a clever way of disguising my true intentions and fooling everybody into believing that I’m actually sensitive and all. Once you win their hearts, they’re easier to manipulate. Which is what I’m currently indulging in.
And painting? Of course I enjoy painting! Nice stress-reliever. Too bad materials are so expensive in Minas Ithil. Orc blood is good too, but fewer and fewer Orcs are willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of Art. Blatant ignorance, I say. As if their stinking lives could be more important than my masterpieces!
How do you retain your sense of humour while dealing with so many weird CoE members as a part of your duties as newsletter admin.?
I don’t. Deep down I’m a hardened cynic who despises everyone. Or rather ignores them as witless fools and negligible quantity. But hey, a job is a job, and I need money to pay for my spa treatments on the beaches of lovely Rhûn. Gods know I’d go insane if I took everyone seriously. Not that anyone would actually deserve such an honour anyway.
Which was your favourite issue of the newsletter?
All of them, of course. What an impertinent thing to ask! How can I not love them if they’re brilliant? And edited by me. And… need I say more?
How did you get so knowledgeable about HTML, etc.?
Ah, the History and Traditions of the Mighty Lumpkin? That’s a prerequisite for becoming a Nazgûl. What, you didn’t actually think Lumpkin was a mere pony, did you? *rolls eyes* See, that’s why there’s only nine of us.
What’s your favourite duty at CoE, and what’s the worst one?
Favourite: fame. As in, fanmail, autograph sessions, rabid fangirls swooning over you and all that jazz.
Worst: yet again, fame. Sometimes it’s nice, and at other times it becomes dreadfully annoying.
Who’s your most favourite Tolkien character?
Wait, I’ve already answered that one! Fwoffo, of course! ‘Cos he’s cute. And cool. And great with strawberries and cream.
Who’s the most gorgeous actor/actress in Peter Jackson’s LotR movies?
Whoever played the Balrog. Man, he was hot! Literally.
