1. So, you have been chosen by the wizards to answer their own particular brand of questions this month. Does this make you proud? Why do you think the wizards have chosen you?
Maybe they wanted to dig me up from my hole to see what progress I have with Éomer and kick me on the butt…? I have no idea. But this is an honour indeed!
2. Let’s start with something easy. A simple choice. Which do you prefer and why?
– Middle-earth or our world?
Hmm, let’s see now. ME has incredibly hot, rugged Rohirrim and Rangers. But our world has even hotter Karl. Everyone’s fighting all the time in both worlds, but only ME seems to have clever Wizards and handy Hobbits to solve the situations… But because I would probably starve to death in ME because I hate mushrooms, I can’t stand the thought of hunting myself and because ME men probably don’t cook, I have to choose our world with pizza and microwave. *lol*
– A steward’s son or a son as steward?
Steward’s son.
– Arwen as hope or Arwen as reward?
Hope.
– The addition of chocolate into Middle-earth or the addition of lembas into our world?
Chocolate to ME! Everyone would eat chocolate and feel much better and fight less… Yes. And besides, lembas would kill the economy in our world in a week when grown men have a bite a day instead of an extra-large McMeal a day.
– Which pairing do you prefer: Arwen/Aragorn; Éowyn/Aragorn; Éowyn/Arwen, Aragorn/Boromir or Boromir/Figwit?
*lol* They’re all pretty good… Boro/Fig is obviously made in heaven, there’s just something so moving with Ary/Boro, Éowyn/Arwen has an advantage of no testosterone, and Aragorn looks good with any lady. But I think I’ll have to go with Boromir and Figwit, it must the most passionate one of these.
3. You wake up with a gentle wind on your face and birds singing in the trees. The sun is rising over a nearby wood. Where are you?
At my summer cabin. In summer.
4. You wake up with something seemingly like a tornado whirling around you. No birds are singing, in trees or otherwise. The sun is in the sky, but often hidden by flying debris, trees, cows etc. Where are you?
I don’t know, but can I go to sleep again and wake up in that other place?
5. Which would you rather do and why? File Gríma’s toenails, brush Lurtz’s teeth or wash Gollum’s loincloth?
Uuugh… Well, I’m not very good at taking care of even my own teeth or toenails, and those two would take me way too close to the targets, but if I wash the loincloth I can just toss it into the washing machine and stay away from Gollum.
6. How well do you think you would do if you were dropped suddenly into Minas Tirith? Or Edoras? Or Barad-dûr?
Well, I’ve heard Minas Tirith has a (in)famous Purple Duck Pub where I could spend my time, and what would be better than learning to ride a Roh… errm, a horse on those beautiful plains of Rohan. Barad-dûr could be a bit trickier, as I’m quite afraid of heights, but because I seem to have a soft spot for problematic men and Sauron surely is one, I think my time would be nicely spent there too.
7. Do Siamese cats truly come from Mordor?
Sure… Why not…
8. What 5 things would you take to Middle-earth with you and why?
– Karl for company and entertainment (is that PG13??)
– My dogs (they only count as one) because even Karl isn’t as important as they are
– Complete Guide to ME (with maps and Elvish words, of course) so I would know all the hottest places to visit and would be able to ask the Elves for lembas
– Camera for very obvious reasons
– Painkillers so that my stupid headaches wouldn’t ruin all the fun with Karl. Exploring Middle-earth, of course…
9. Which is your favourite season, and where in Middle-earth would you like to spend it?
Winter in Edoras doesn’t sound very bad.
10. Give us 5 words that explain your love of Tolkien and his works.
Hope, Éomer, beauty, depth and… umm… Rohirrim.
11. Which characters would you be in the following books: Winnie the Pooh, Lost, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter?
I think I could be fun-loving Roo with a bit of responsible Susan. I don’t really know the characters of Harry Potter and… Lost is a book??
12. And on to our favourite website … Which forums have you never posted in on CoE? Which forum do you post in most?
I’ve never posted in Elvish 101, RPs, Palantír or Creations. I post the most in Nienna and Games.
13. Which completely unnecessary section does CoE really need?
A section for Karl. He is a vital part of LotR, right? And maybe a funny little section where you could find out if that stupid Balrog has lost its wings or what, and where it’s clearly told that Éomer is the über-Hunk in the list of ME Hunks…
And that’s that! Thank you for your time and your thoughts!
Yeah, what secret content in your drink is it that makes you crazy enough to come up with questions like this? And where can I get it??
One response to “CoE Moderator of the Month: an interview with AinarielPalantir”
Congrats, Ainariel! 🙂
