Member of the Month: an interview with Lanfear

How did you find CoE?
I’m not entirely sure, I’ve practically moved in and I’ve forgotten how I got here. I’m guessing via the wonderful world of Google.

What are your duties here at CoE?
I’m a Leader of the Realm of Nienna, so I mostly spend my time hugging people. It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it.

What are you favorite areas of the site?
On the Forums – Realm of Nienna and Games, I couldn’t drag myself away from those if I tried. Too many friends to give those two up. And elsewhere it would have to be the Humor Section. I can spend hours giggling my way through the stuff in there!

How often do you visit CoE?
Once every ten minutes or so by my last reckoning.

How many times have you read the books?
Around twenty times for the Lord of the Rings books, The Silmarillion three times in a year or so – which is about the amount of time it took me to stop writing Silmarrilion instead of Silmarillion. I’ve read the Unfinished Tales once and The Hobbit countless times.

Who is your favorite LoTR character?
Faramir or “UG- Ugly Gondorian” as he is fondly known. I’d explain why, but I don’t want to be sued when you all slip in my drool…

Do you have a favorite scene from the Trilogy?
Nope, I love the whole thing. As a whole it is perfect, so I don’t like to break it up at all.

What character left out of the films do you miss most?
I miss Tom, I was looking forward to the nonsense poems and twinkling eyes *sigh* Plus I was hoping he would start a new fashion trend towards yellow boots, so we could all look like garden gnomes…

Do you know any Sindarin or Quenya?
Alas no, I can write reasonably fluently in Dwarvish Runes though. Myself and a friend write letters back and forth during lectures, so doing them in a language the lecturer is very unlikely to be able to read if they ever saw is very helpful indeed!

What did you enjoy most about the ROTK EE?
It has to be the cast commentaries. They’ve had me howling with laughter at some points.
