How did you find CoE?
Although it was Weta Workshops who introduced me to Lord of the Rings, it was a search for Frodo that brought me to CoE first *blush*
What are your duties here at CoE?
Currently I look after Members Websites, which involves dealing with questions, checking them for content and selecting a website of the month.
What are your favourite areas of the site?
Eek, I have to pick one? Lols, well, okay, I guess it’s the gallery. Surprised you? Shouldn’t be, after all, it was my love of visual effects that led me to Tolkien.
How often do you visit CoE?
Do I ever leave? I look in at least once a day, real life permitting, sometimes it’s a very brief moment to check for PMs, but most often it’ll be an hour or so, unless I feel a drooly moment coming and head for the gallery.
How many times have you read the books?
Well I try to read them each year, currently I am re-reading the Silmarillion. I want to add to my collection, the HoME series being the next on my list.
Who is your favourite LOTR character?
If I am honest I’d have to say Frodo, he is my book favourite, but movie favourite was Elrond, its an eyebrow thing.
Do you have a favourite scene from the trilogy?
Gee, that’s hard! Ok, there are several in the movies: Pippin and the “he does know about second breakfast…,” Sam and his pan walloping in Moria, Frodo’s dilemma at the river’s edge, when he decides to go on alone, when Legolas kills the Mûmak and Gimli retorts “that still only counts as one,” *drones on and on for hours with examples*
What character left out of the films do you miss most?
Ohh well, I suppose it has to be the twins Elladan and Elrohir, *sigh* I wonder if they had their dad’s eyebrows!!
Do you know any Sindarin or Quenya?
Some Sindarin, though I don’t know enough, something to remedy sometime, but my siggy was Gil-galad berio i rad padathach / May starlight bless the path you take, for a long time, maybe I will add it again.
What did you enjoy most about the ROTK EE?
Well I guess it has to be the romance of Éowyn and Faramir, it was something I hoped PJ would keep, so was disappointed when it wasn’t in RotK, but happy when it was included in the RotK EE.
Lastly can I just say it’s been an honor and a pleasure to be a member of the staff here on the best Tolkien site on the net. Thanks to all who make CoE great!
