Queens of the Valar
by Newra

Running through forest, fair as a sparrow
Deer loving beauty with arms long and narrow
The Lady of Dance is as swift as an arrow

Flower buds open at a look from her face
Blue-birds shall sing as she walks through this place
The fair Ever-Young; full of beauty and grace

A sorrowful glance does she cast on her loom
A cloth and a needle in this dark place of gloom
The Weaver doth clothe every hall of each Tomb

Sleeping by day on a fair hill of green
Clothed all in grey; her tender voice sings
The Lady; The Gentle; in dreams we have seen

Sister of Dreams; Sister of Fear
Comforting the Dead who now linger here
The Lady of Sorrow we see shed a tear

Lover of fruits and plants great and small
A bright golden smile she shall give to all
The Giver of Fruits, robed in green, standing tall

Beauty that cannot be judged by mere eyes
Who, high on a Tower, weaves light for our lives
The Lady of Stars whose work fills the skies

A Prayer to the Kindler
by gwendeth

I lift my eyes to the heavens high!
To the Kindler I ask for this blessing!
For healing and peace to my warrior dear,
And bring him back to me!

I lift my eyes to the stars above!
To the Vala who holds them dear!
For joyous dreams and silent sleep,
To my warrior who dwells far away!

I lift my eyes to the lights that shine!
To the Lady who gave them life!
Keep him brave, my warrior-love,
Who holds me to his heart!

A Song of Stars
by Lindelena

Long ago in darkness I did dwell
My heart was cold in sorrow
I found no joy in moon or sun
Each day I came to dread the morrow

But I had not seen the soft, pale light
Of Elbereth’s wondrous stars
But I heard stories of her grace
Of how she helps the one who mars

O, Elbereth! I called to her
Please show thy light to me!
Teach me of the evening sky
O, how I wish for thee!

And so I found her heavenly light
And darkness was no more
And now I sing of Elbereth
In sweet and subtle lore

Star beam

by VilyaTook

If we could capture the light of a star
imagine all the things it could fill
jewels and metals would shine afar
each with the glow of a Silmaril

behind every face there it would gleam
spreading laughter and joy as it goes
and life would be peaceful beyond any dream
with the starlight to vanquish our foes

but for now that glint of white in the sky
will remain there and we will not see
the wondrous ways we could beautify
our lives with the light from the tree

yet do not give up all of your hopes
that the time may yet be near
for if you can catch a falling star beam
then, my darling, that time will be here

The Night Keepers
by SwirlZ

When dear lovely night comes out
Stars blossom from the sky
The moon pokes out
Her white glowing head
Into the starry sky.
So beautiful is this sight
That most don’t even see it
And those that do
Are blessed alike
They are the night keepers.

Tears of Melian
by Matindomiel

silver rivers
running from two deep pools
curtained by raven silk

liquid crystals
stain satin cheeks
as quiet cries
shatter bleeding heart

candle light dances
on cold grey hand
bereft of immortal glow

pale skin kissed
by petal soft lips
pleading against his passing

starlight shines through windowpane
as she raises her face to the heavens
begging the Valar for guidance
for hope

her nightingale is gone
dearest daughter
doomed to die
for a mortal’s love

now her husband
her soul
her grey cloaked king
struck down
for a Silmaril

turning from the window
from lovely Varda’s lights
broken lady falls
‘cross the body of her lover
soaking golden hair
with salt tears

elven queen
lost and lonely
broken Maia
sorrowful of spirit
yearning for release
from mortal raiment

bleeding heart shatters
rose soft skin grows cold
as fallen spirit flees
the golden halls of Menegroth

sailing soaring
o’er starlit western seas
heartbroken spirit
lovely lady
flies home
to the gardens of Valinor
