How did you find CoE?
I found it while doing a search for RotK screen captures. The selection impressed me, so I returned to check out more of the site. After lurking around as a guest for a couple of months, I finally joined. Now I can’t stay away.
What are your favourite areas of the site?
I really enjoy Elrond’s Library, the Fan Creations section, and the Gallery. I also really like the Books vs. Movies section. But I spend most of my time in the Forum, especially in the wonderful Realm of Nienna.
How often do you visit CoE?
I spend a lot of time on the computer, so I’m here off and on all day usually. It’s a really rare day that I don’t make it to CoE at all!
How many times have you read the books?
I’m on my fifth reading right now. I had to re-read them since the EE was coming out! (Well, actually any excuse would do.) I pick up so many more details each time I read them. I have a lot of fun comparing the movies to the books, finding the similarities. And since I watch the movies over and over, I have to keep re-reading the books to keep it all fresh in my mind.
Who is your favourite LOTR character?
Why, Frodo, of course! I’m a Hobbit fan in general, though. And I’m fascinated by Gollum.
Do you have a favourite scene from the trilogy?
I have a few from the movies. “Gollum and Sméagol” and “Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit”, all as one segment. And “The Grey Havens”. That one breaks my heart every time. As far as the books are concerned, I couldn’t even come close to finding one.
What character left out of the films do you miss most?
The Barrow Wight! I love that part in the book. I don’t think it would have fit in the movie very well, though.
Do you know any Sindarin or Quenya?
Only a few basics. And proper pronunciation. I haven’t put any real effort into studying them at this point.
What did you enjoy most about the ROTK EE?
Oh, how do I answer that? There were so many wonderful things added to it! Ultimately I’d have to say I was most pleased to see Frodo’s struggle with the Ring given a bit more attention toward the end. I didn’t get a real feeling for the full impact it has on him in the theatrical release, especially compared to the book. And I absolutely adore the Appendices! So many fun goodies on those discs!
