How did you find CoE?
A little over a year ago I was just starting to really get into LotR and I think I was looking for pictures when I just happened to find this site as one result from a search engine. I explored the site and kept coming back. RotK was just coming to theatres and after a while I had to join so that I could write comments in the Movie forum. Before I knew it I was totally hooked.
What are your favourite areas of the site?
The forums. Most of my time I spend in the Realm of Nienna, but I also like the Games forum and now I’m also reading the Silmarillion with the Book Club.
How often do you visit CoE?
If I don’t at least shortly drop in here every day, there must be something really, really serious going on.
How many times have you read the books?
LotR four times, The Hobbit once and now I’m reading the Sil for the third time. Oh, and Unfinished Tales once. All within three years.
Who is your favourite LOTR character?
Well…Not a big secret I would say Éomer. And it’s pretty obvious to all who know me. But Aragorn and Boromir are great characters too, I think all in all I’m very much into the race of Men.
Do you have a favourite scene from the trilogy?
This is tough…Well, the whole thing from the Rohirrim arriving at the Pelennor Fields to their charge is absolutely amazing. And Sam’s speech in Osgiliath, “They kept going, because they were holding onto something”, is also one of my favourites.
What character left out of the films do you miss most?
Well, it sure would have been nice to see more of the Rangers.
Do you know any Sindarin or Quenya?
Sadly I don’t…I have found it pretty hard to study on the internet when I don’t even have English as my mother tongue.
What did you enjoy most about the ROTK EE?
Well, the story is of course more complete now, there are a couple of very good new scenes in the movie, but what I was really looking forward to were the Appendices and the commentaries (Dom and Billy only make them worth listening).
