I did archery once! I got a bullseye but the target was so well used dat my arrow came flying back at me! so no1 believed me & i was nearly skewered! lol
I think that is really great! I had always thought the idea of doing archery was really neat. But it wasn’t until I saw LOTR that I was really inspired to start. I now have a wooden long bow. I think I have been doing pretty well for being on my own. I would love to get lessons sometime though, when I have the time for it that is.
Lord of the Rings sparked my intrest in archery, and now I have my own bow, and am teaching myself, hehe… But I’m so glad there’s so many new archers! Yet another of the wonderful side-effects of watching LOTR!
I’m doing archery right now! I signed up for archery club once the school year started again. Last time I attempted it in about second grade (vague memory) I was the first to get a bullseye but I hit the target a couple booths down….a bit ironic huh! Wish me luck!
The Lord of the Rings really got me interested in archery as well, though, even if I’d like to begin, the courses in archery seems waaay too expensive for me! I wish they weren’t, cause then I would have taken them a long time ago!
I did archery at a Family Reunion. I don’t mean to brag, but I was totally awesome!!! My guy cousins and my uncle helped me out. I had so much fun!!! I went out to the archery range at 6:30 in the morning to shoot, and lemme tell you, it is SO cold at 6:30 in the morning in Colorado!!! (That’s where the Family Reunion was held) My hands were FROZEN to the bow!!! Lol!!! J/k. But, no, it was really a lot of fun.
I’d love to do more archery. The first time I tried it however I nearly took my left boob off with the bow string. Then the instructor after HE’D, I emphasise the HE, had stopped laughing gave me a ‘boob protector.
I LOVE archery! When I used to go to school in second grade (Thank the Lord I’m homeschooled now) we did a segment on archery, but they kept talking about how it was the indian’s way, indian’s hunt, wild men this, ect. ect. Not to say that certain things about the indian’s weren’t interesting, but just to say that, in archery, they didn’t inspire me to try. I did it a bit, and I did hit pretty close to the bullseye if I remember correctlty, but that was it. When I saw LOTR I ran out and bought myself a bow (green 🙂 ) and some arrows. My friends (talk to TheSmirkOfSmaug) shoot all the time in the forest, and we’re getting pretty good if I do say so myself. And at camp I practiced all week for the archery contest, prayed about it…and won first place! (It wasn’t all the practice, it was God’s will, I primise you 🙂 ) ElvenFire

Why only the Elven archers? The Gondorians with their 80# longbows are VERY cool as well!

Inspired by the movies I tried archery recently – well I managed to hit the target once!
My high school mascot was the Archer, so archery was offered in PE. Took it, and enjoyed it very much.
