I agree completely with what you say Nauma. You are very insightful. I think the story, while quite different in tone, may be easier in a way than LOTR. It’s more linear. Though I sure agree that dealing with fans’ vision of what elves are like, or what dwarves are capable of will be difficult. They sort of switch roles in LOTR. As you say, the dwarves are the smart “movers and shakers,” the elves are “silly song singers.” That will be tricky especially if PJ wants to retain the foolish fangirl base. Frankly I wouldn’t mind him alienating them a bit, though it would sure be bad for box office.
