  1. I was pretty upset with how quickly the tickets ran out. I had 5 possible venues to go to and wasn’t able to obtain to any of them. I can deal with that since a lot of people want to go, but I was really upset to see other fans making profits off the tickets on ebay. I thought I might obtain a pair there for New England based tickets. I love LOTR very much, but not enough to pay $500 or more for 2 tickets. I’ll have my own marathon when I own all three movies!

  2. I personally feel that the online sales of the tickets seemed very wrong. I know people who waited in line for days to get tickets, but were beaten out by people who logged on five minutes before the release of the tickets and bought tons of them. Fandango did not have a ticket limit, so those who logged on first could technically buy the theatre out as long as they had room on their credit card… I waited in line seven hours in Baltimore, but I did recieve tickets. I was very fortunate that the Senator Theater did not sell tickets online, or those who put many hours pulling line duty would have been cheated.

  3. My local theater changed the ticket selling time from midnight to noon Oct 9. That left me no choice but to buy online. Both Fandango and Movietickets.com crashed, lots of bad info was given automatically, and by 5 pm it was clear I wasn’t getting local tickets. So, I went to Theonering.net and learned where else there were available tickets. Tennessee, 500 miles away had tickets, and by then Fandango was up. I bought them!!! THEN, I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean the following Saturday at one of the theatres that is holding the Trilogy. I spoke to a manager politely but with feeling. Ended up on a short list of those who’d get tickets if any were turned in. Monday I was called, they’d held back twice the number they needed for promo!!! I was able to get a refund from Fandango so I’m good to go. DON’T GIVE UP!!!
