The continuous readings will begin September 19th at 7:30 p.m. and run to 1 p.m. on September 20th or until all the pages have been read. The marathon will include midnight snack and breakfast buffets, LOTR costumes available to wear for the night (or bring your own!), a LOTR book exhibit by Barnes & Noble, trivia contests, raffles for LOTR-based prizes, LOTR merchandise for sale, an Elvish writing expert, and much more. Hands will be stamped to permit those in attendance to go in and out at will during the evening.
The admission fee for the marathon, including buffets, is $2, with funds supporting Hilbert’s student magazine, Hilbert Horizons. Free to Hilbert students, the Medieval Dinner costs $12 per person or $10 for those in costume, and with a separate price schedule for Hilbert faculty and staff. Those attending the dinner may also attend the reading marathon at no extra charge. Please e-mail Evenstar_81@hotmail.com for more information.
