Here´s the Swedish/Danish language department with a quick translation (sorry about any grammar mistakes in my English…)
Viggo celebrated his prize with a Swedish flag
“Lord of the Rings” star received “The film star” in New Zealand
WELLINGTON. The readers of Aftonbladet appointed him best foreign actor of 2002. Aragorn, a.k.a. Viggo Mortensen becomes so happy that he draws a Swedish flag. – Thank you very much! Now I´m going to show this prize to my son Henry.
Viggo Mortensen has received the Aftonbladet prize “The Film Star”. Dressed as Aragorn, he has just left to film a new scene for “The Return of the King”. But he comes running back to me again. – “Look what I’ve made. That will probably be better, don’t you think?” says Viggo Mortensen. In his hand he’s holding a Swedish flag. Glued to a pen.
Fluent Danish
Viggo Mortensen has a Danish father and an American mother and speaks several languages fluently. With me, he speaks Danish. Now he´s in the New Zealand capital Wellington in order to shoot supplementary scenes for ROTK. His son Henry is with him. He is the one who once convinced daddy that he had to accept the role as Aragorn. Viggo Mortenson shakes my hand several times when he thanks for the prize. He´s wearing a half glove on his right hand and some fingers are bleeding.
“Jackson is crazy”
– “Yes, we film a fighting scene with the dead armies”, he says. “Peter Jackson is absolutely crazy.” But the director looks calm and happy when we meet a little later to hand over “The Film Star” for best foreign movie of 2002. “The Two Towers”.
– “Tolkien would have appreciated this prize for the film. He was very influenced by the Scandinavian sagas when he invented his mythology”, says Peter Jackson. “The readers of Aftonbladet have good taste.”
How´s the third film?
– “Everything is under control. We’re relaxed and happy. This is the most exciting post production work, but also the most complicated of the three films”, says Peter Jackson.

1. “Many thanks!” Dressed as Aragorn, Viggo Mortensen received “The Film Star” during the production of “The Return of the King”. And what could be a better way to celebrate the film prize of Aftonbladet than with a home-made Swedish flag?
2. Peter Jackson was delighted to receive the Aftonbladet “Film Star”. For two years in a row he has won the prize for “Best foreign film”.
3. Aftonbladet representative Jens Peterson handed over “The Film Star” to Viggo Mortensen, in Minas Tirith, Wellington.

Ooooh, look at the City! And Aragorn’s costume! I might learn Swedish just so I can read it. (Where are the drool smileys when you need them 😉 )
