McKellen Asks Jackson for Hobbit Adaptation

“I want to play Gandalf again, in The Hobbit. I’ve asked Peter Jackson if he’ll produce the prequel as a huge, yearlong television series. All those different strands to the story seem perfect for TV, and we’d do every scene of it. It could be marvelous.”

  1. If there is some sort of petition to sign or whatever, I’m there! Please, please, PJ, make the Hobbit. Although the animated movie is cute, one of the calibur of the LotR trilogy would be awesome!

  2. Wow! That would be great! Our family has been hoping for a movie of The Hobbit ever since we heard the Lord of the Rings was being made. Make sure Weta Workshop signs on again, too. Can you imagine how well they would make Smaug? Then, Peter Jackson can film The Silmarilion. That ought to be good for another two or three year long series.

  3. I would hate it as a t.v. series! What if it was on some channel that people that don’t have cable (namely, me!) can’t get? And then they would have to have the same episode on like every day of the week so nobody misses it. It would be much better on the big screen. Besides, they would get more money for a movie.
