There was an AWESOME turnout for the First Birthday party of CoE, over 20 people in chat at any given point. As Rivka came in, there were many cyber-yells of “Happy Birthday!” “Yay!” and “Hurrah for Rivka!” After drinks had been served, the jacuzzi turned on, and good humour abounded, all at once everyone began calling out “Speech, Rivka, speech!” And after some half-hearted protestations, she complied.
“Thanks to everyone who has helped with the site”
she began.
“Thanks to everyone who has joined the site.
This site is what it is because of all of you.
I may have come up with the idea for it,
but you make it the great place it is to visit.
Now go eat cake and stop asking me to make speeches.”

I love this site, in case you haven’t read about it before. And I love cake…but I love CoE more! Hey,that rhymes! As I type this, CoE is at the #1 site spot at the Tolkien Top 100–and is anyone surprised? I’m not! Happy Happy Birthday, CoE!
