Additionally I need some researchers to help fill in while we search for a regular assistant and also pick up the slack. This does not require as big of a commitment as the regular position. Basically I would give you a specific item to research which can be found in the published literature and often times on the web.
Depending on the size of the project you would be given a deadline of a few days to a couple of weeks. It will mostly require doing some reading and scanning of index’s, copying text or find already typed up text and just going over it to make sure of the accurracy. Everything needs to be in English, however.
You will be given one project at a time and if you own the books or the library is near by to you then it shouldn’t require more then a couple of hours total for each item and more then likely less as I will often give you exactly where in the literature you can find what I need, I just need someone else to type it out etc.
You are not required to have read all the literature thoroughly but it would help if you owned the Trilogoy, Hobbit and Silmarillion or had easy access to them as well as ability to do thorough digging on the web.
